Dear colleagues,

The Laboratoire Lagrange (Université Côte d’Azur, Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, CNRS) in collaboration with the Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille (LAM) is inviting applications for a PhD position in high-contrast instrumentation for exoplanet observations, starting in Fall 2026. The PhD scholarship is already fully funded through AMINO (Advanced Multi-spectral Imaging using Novel wavefront sensors with Optical
photon-counting detectors), a target project from the PEPR Origins under France 2030
fundings managed by ANR.

The successful applicant will perform research in wavefront sensing and control for exoplanet imaging and spectroscopy with future large observatories.

The project will be carried out in Nice (France) and include research stays in Marseille, under the joint supervision of Mamadou N’Diaye, Olivier Lai (Lagrange) and Arthur Vigan (LAM).

More details on the PhD fellowship and application procedure can be found in the following link.
Applications sent by March 30th, 2026 will receive full consideration. Selected candidates will be interviewed in April and final offer will shortly follow.

Best wishes,
Mamadou N’Diaye, Olivier Lai and Arthur Vigan
