We suspect that many PhD students across different faculties are working individually on very similar problems developing deep learning methods for visual data, without ever meeting. That is why we are organizing an informal, peer-to-peer computer vision workshop on Tuesday 30 June (13:30–17:00, Gorlaeus Building, Room CE 0.18, Leiden) for PhDs and postdocs across Leiden University and LUMC. Through this informal workshop we hope to form a diverse group, ranging from medical imaging, astronomy, or fundamental CV research to digital archaeology, biodiversity, or (electron) microscopy. The event consists of short 5-minute pitches (who am I, what is my research and what are my interests) followed by casual conversation in smaller groups. We conclude of course with a borrel with pizza and drinks. If you are interested but cannot join the workshop that day, please consider signing up for the mailing list! We would be grateful if you could forward this invitation to the PhD students and postdocs in your group who work with visual data or deep learning methods.
